[xj-s] Air bags and Crash Worthiness

I’ve been worried about crash worthiness after seeing recent
side-curtain air bag tests. Since my 95 XJS coupe only has front bags,
I was wondering how good the XJS is in a crash. They never seemed to
have tested these Jags. But does anyone know how well an XJS would do?

These days with all them young whipersnappers driving jacked up pick-up
trucks, you have to wonder how well off you’d come out if one of those
idiots crashed into your side. Their truck is raised 5 feet, and you’re
slinkin’ around in your low slung Jag. Hmmmm.

I’ve never understood why it is legal to jack up a truck 5 feet, but
it’s illegal for a auto manufacturers to sell them built that way.

I think as long as you are between the tires, either lengthwise or
crosswise, you’ll be okay, they’ll figure they just hit a speedbump!
