[xj-s] Air Conditioning change

Golly Ollie! I went and did it this time. I guess my GM A/C compressor
went along on one too many rides to 6500 RPM. Last night, on my way
home from work, my A/C compressor suffered a catastrophic internal
failure.

Now that I need to replace it anyway, I suppose I might as well consider
changing over to a refrigerant other than R-12. What’s the current
state of the art? What else do I need besides a new compressor?–
