[xj-s] Aston MArtin DB7 wheels on an XJ-S

Hi there!

I’m new to the Jaguar scene and have recently bought my first
Jaguar, an '88 XJ-S V12 Convertible in need of a little TLC!

I’ve aslo aquired a set of 8x18’’ Aston Martin DB7 wheels which I’ve
been assured by a number of people will fit (See achieve material
or cut and paste this attached link for photos as proof!!).

I know much debate has taken place over the years on this forum
regarding what size and offset wheel and tyre will fit (the offset
on these is 14.5mm), but basically I’m after a definative answer
from someone who has fitted these particular wheels as to what size
tyres I should be running and what problems if any I may encounter
trying to fit them.

Thanks in advance–

I am running the Aston Martin Wheels on my 1980 XJ-S with Sumitomo
225/40ZR18 tires. I use no spacers of any kind and my wheel wells have not
been modified in any way. I have no clearance problems, front or rear but
I’ll admit that it’s extremely close in the rear. I wouldn’t go ANY larger.
