[xj-s] Australian alternator replacements

Here’s one for the Aussies. What alternators have you used
to replace your Lucas 75Amp units, and with what success?
I’m looking for a readily available alt to upgrade to.

Thanks in advance,

Gav,

I use a Bosch 130A out of a SAAB 9000.
I am not sure if it will readily mount in the original position.
Mine is mounted where the air pump used to reside.

Gav try your local Holden dealer and get a 120amp
alternator off one of the late model holdens, change the
front pulley from serpentine belt to V belt and should bolt
straight up to air pump fittings and your world will be a
brighter place.

Do you have a part number or the model & year Holden that the alternator you
are suggesting is from? This will help those of us down under to actually
source the correct alternator.
