[xj-s] Converted to Quads - How to defeat Bulb Failure Warning

I’ve just converted my 92 to quads (Cibies). I did not use a
kit with connectors for an automatic changeover - I cut the
original wires.

I terminated the power/ground wires that went to the
original parking/side light. As a result I have the bulb
failure warning light on.

How do I defeat the sensors?

Thanks…Gary–

Are the sensors the same as on the earlier cars? A little metal box with three
connectors? If so, you might try just adjusting it. There’s a tiny threaded
screw between the connectors. First, disconnect the signal wire from ALL of
the bulb failure sensors but one. Then, with the lights on and the sensor fully
warmed up, turn the screw slowly until the warning light goes out. Move on to
the next sensor and do it again.

Actually, your problem may be only one sensor, I dunno.

OTOH, you might want to actually provide a parking/side light. You might be
able to replace a turn signal bulb with a dual-filament bulb and have them
serve as parking lights.

Kirby - thanks for your response. Noted on both points.

It looks like I got the wrong Cibies. I’m working to replace
with parking bulb built in. Will follow up.
