[xj-s] Electrical Gremlins Conclusion

Well as I posted I was having turn signal issues in my 89 xjs vert.
I was told the turn signals were fed through the hazard switch and
some suggested I try cycling the switch a bunch of times. No go. So
I pulled the hazard switch off and checked all the connections for
12V as well as the connections at the turn signal switch. All
checked out fine. I reconnected everything and alas, all worked
well. After about 5 minutes of driving, the problem returned, only
this time I new what the issue was. Since moving the connections
around temporarily solved it, I pulled the hazard switch again, and
tightened up all of the little ring connectors that are used in the
plug, connecting to the hazard switch. Problem solved. Over time
these ring clamps have opened up, causing poor connections and lack
of power to the hazard/turn signal circuit. Thanks for pointing me
in the right direction guys.–

Good intel. Thanks for sharing.
I’ve been working on cleaning up all ground connections lately.
Still have a non-running V12 and with winter approaching the chore
gets no easier.–
