[xj-s] FW: Help on recall

Can anyone help Sam? He is wondering if some recall work was performed
on his “new” XJ-S (I think it’s a '90) but the PO isn’t providing much
in the way of records. Please email him directly.

Thanks,

Hi, Mark. Thanks for your reply. I wish I have all the maintenance
record. The PO is not a very honest person, that is why the Jag is
still in the shop as of today, I am having a tough time to get anything
from him after the sale. I am locate in U.S, California. Do you mean
that there is a phone number I can call to find out if the recall work
has been done? If so, can you tell me the number?
I guess I can not just drive into a dealer and ask them to perform the
recall on the car. But do you think they might have some kind of
central computer to know if all the work has been done? Or the only way
to go is to wait till something related to the recall problem act up and
then I turn it to the dealer??

Please advice.

Thanks.

Sam

Any Jag dealer should be able to tell you any outstanding recalls or service
actions. All they need is the complete serial number. If you email me the
serial number I can check. On Wednesday, July 02, 1997 8:38 AM, West, Mark [SMTP:WEST@iscg.com] wrote:

I am sure that Jaguar maintains a database of recalls that have been
performed. Otherwise they could end up paying for it over & over.
If you are in Northern California, call San Jose Jaguar (formerly San Jose
British Motors). They are extremely helpful & I am sure they would check
this out for you.
