what is the thing/ p# adjoining the fender/cowl.
originally black, it looks like a tube of 1/8 inch by 6 in rubber
or plastic.
is it supposed to be black, or match the body color?
It’s fender welting. A joint finisher/filler, anti
noise material, make it more pretty, water diverter,
etc. The early cars did not have this, perhaps as
late as the facelift cars only having this. Others
will chime in.
The parts book does show the part in “Bonnet, Wing,
Door and Trunk Lid Panels”. Illustration #3, however
the description is for a different part. Part number
may be correct, or not… from the facelift parts
book. BHC 2274 and BHC 2275.
