[xj-s] LH blower motor runs with ignition shut off

I have a 93 xjs. The driver’s side LH blower motor stays on (low
speed) with the ignition switch off (not good for the battery
charge). I have pulled fuse #3 from the LH fuse panel to keep the
power off the blower, but with only the RH blower powered the ac
is’nt very good. I do have battery voltage at both the RH and LH
fuses with the ignition switched off. my questions are: first are
the blower voltage supposed to be there with the ignition switched
off. second, where is the switched ignition relay located.
although any suggestions to a fix bfor this problem would be
appreciated.–

Looks very much like the Darlington transistor has failed on the
blower. A classic sympton of this failure is for the blower to run
with the ignition off.
It is fixable, in the actual fix is very simple, the hard bit is
getting the blower out.
I did a fix last year on a UK car, drivers side blower, will post
the fix off list.–
