[xj-s] Radiator question

Is the radiator from a 82 XJ12 the same as one from a 84 XJ-S. I have
the XJ12 radiator sitting in the work shop and if the same would take it
to get flushed rodded and remove the partition inside. Then I could just
swap the two radiators.
Thanks Chuck Mauch

I think the main difference is that the 82 HE still has the coolant level
sensor in the front RH upper tank whereas the later versions have the sensor
mounted in the header tank. I don’t know if this is the only difference but
I have noticed that places like Welsh’s seem to sell the XJS radiator for 84
and later and nothing for 82 - 83.

Sorry, I just realized that you were asking about the difference between the
XJ-12 and XJ-S. One of the shops where I went to for an estimate on a
re-coring though had listings for new cores for XJ-12s, XJ-6s and etypes and
just about everything except the XJS. This would lead me to believe that the
XJS might be different from the XJ-12 core, but perhaps a rebuilder on the
list might be able to answer this question better.

Hey, you tell us! You’re the one with one of each to compare!

I seem to recall the differences are insignificant.
