No, I have not seen anything exactly like that on my car, and
I’ve been in that area quite a bit. The box with the connectors
looks like it might have been OE for you later model, but the
switches look more like a previous owner (PO) has rigged something
up, perhaps a security system.

it was easy to remove the two panels and i took some pictures of what it
looks like under there.
can you take a look and tell me if this kinda large black epoxy kinda box is
the diode thing you are talking about.
it is hot now and i am frying / dying. i gotta get this figured out.
i’m ordering the cd rom tomorrow and will have it by friday hoping it will
assist with all this stuff.

Can you contact the PO and ask? Or try starting the car and fliping
the swithces in a controled manor to see what happens.

Or get a wiring diagarm and check the wire colors and see what is
this thing. Could be security system but have never seen one wtih
all of the switches.
