Which way does the rear hub carrier felt washer and cup fit into
the carrier? Felt washer on the inside with the cup towards the the
hub or felt washer on the outside with the cup pointing out?
When I took mine apart the felt washer was on the outside with the
cup pointing out and the bearings failed. The other way around
would make more sense.–

Why even use those felt washers? Why not upgrade to a modern
seal as described in Kirby’s book? Its a much better set up.–
