Hi All, Many thanks for the replies regarding rear brakes…
It gets worse… Is it possible to remove the rear radius arm
bush mount and weld a new piece of steel to the floor in order to
replace/repair the large rust area around my rear mounting… or
can anyone suggest an acceptable method of repair to this area
making my car road worthy again…

I’ve got a similar problem (rusted through at the end of the sill
and into the wheelarch). The other day I found a scrap car in good
nick and I’ve cut out a huge section. Now all I need to do is work
out what to cut out of mine and then get busy with a welder!!
From what I’ve seen, you can even get replacement radius arm mounts
and jacking points.

Paul, in scanning the site for radius arm mount rot problems wot I
have on my newly acquired '83 XJS I came across your enquiry. I’d
be interested to find out how you got on - both sides of mine need
doing and I wondered if it was easier getting panels or what
cheers
