[xj-s] Side bump strip removal

My car has rubber bump strips running the length of the car near the
coachline. How do you remove them without marking the paint?–

After pulling the rear window(see other thread), I decided to take advantage
of the extra space available and install my 88+ shoulder belts in the rear
seats. I had to weld up some thick plate brackets for under the hat shelf
anchor and the inertial reel anchors behind the door jambs bolted in
perfectly.
The only issues are the seat anchors in the center of the rear bench. The
bolt holes for the orignal lap belts are not suitable because of the
location on the rear bulkhead and the fact that they use about 6 inches of
webbing material to help them come out from behind the seat. The new 88+
feamle anchors are complete rigid and are very short. Anyway there were
another set of bolts on the side of the humps that work perfectly. I think
these bolts/holes were those used by the old “Australian only” market(in
parts book) three point harness. The only issue now is that I had to remove
the bolted on separate leather seat hump in the rear seat to get the rear
seat bottom to fit it obviously doesn’t look that great.
Anyone have a pic of what the rear seat hump is suposed to look like on the
89> XJS cars with three point harnesses?
I guess the next step is to see if anyone has one on the UPE, unless anyone
on the list has one they would like to sell off of a rear seat cushion. I
might even take the whole seat bottom if someone has one of those.
While I would prefer a newer one, I would also take an older HE one to try
modifying as well.
All advice is appreciated.

It’s not much, but here’s a tiny pic…

Go to “Ebay” and look at the XJS listings. Most sellers include many
interior pics

Well, mine were riveted to the car.
It took far more time to remove them and fill the holes than it did
to paint the whole car!–
