I have found a tool that works pretty well. I got at Harbor Freight,
item 37909, pliers, hose & grippers, 3/8",1/2" and 3/4", $11.99. I have
been using the 3/8" as Kirby describes in the Book with the tongs. I
will experient with putting shrink wrap on the the ends for an even
softer grip.
