Subject: [xj] Series 3 & series 2 doors/trims
just a quickie… are the interior trims interchangeable
between S2 & S3 doors? I just fancy the wood fillet of the S3.
It has been some time ago but now will be on the forum at times agian…
What did I do on my XJ6 SII 1975 with 3.6 engine meanwhile
a respray
new interiour
further technical upgrade, brakes, suspension, irs etc.
new chrome
RVS exhaust
Cold air intake
Wrapped the first part of the exhaust
Xenon light
new rubbers
Just did change to new interior and I did put in a S2 car S3 door trims…
can be done but you need to make adjustments…
I did not chose to polster the doortrims agian, so it is not a perfect fit,
but with an extra chrome trime I think to cover this…It is a daily driver
at the end and not a concours Jag…
I think it came from a S3 V12…
can make some pics…

I suspect only VDP’s and certain others have the sood triim piece!
My Lovely (lowly?) XJ^ Series III does not have them. I rather like
the simple smooth look on the doors. It doesn’t hurt that I was
fortunate to get a car with a ‘‘near-perfect’’ interior.

I would snag the wood trim from an S3. Would make the S2 interior
look nice. Like this:
FTR, even the standard-issue '86-'87 Ser III XJ6 cars had wood trim in the
door panels. Not quite like the VDP or other upper-line cars, but very
handsome nevertheless

Teahead (Rob),
That interior shot appears to be of a Series II Coupe. If it
is, what year/model were the wood veneer trims taken from?..–
