Hi all
Well thankfully the cops set up one of those “speed sensor” things on my
road to cut down on speeding. Anywho, I thought this was the perfect
opportunity to see if my suspicions were right about my speedometer being
faulty.
I hit 30 mph and as I approached the huge sensor which stands at the side
of the road and says in large large numbers what speed you are doing as you
approach it and pass it.
Well obviously when I passed it I couldn’t see the speed because it was
going the other way BUT I turned the Jag around, and headed back.
As I passed the sensor I immediately glanced in my side mirror and the
thing read 25 mph (I deciphered it from ‘52’ ;> ) even though my speedo
was saying 30 mph. The speedo and the sensor were EXACTLY 5 mph off from
each other. I know my speedo is a little cooky because my trip computer
will say I’m going 64.5 while my speedo says 70.
Any quick fixes you guys can think of? The needle is right, I put the
needle onto “O” without moving the tiny little wire that the needle clips
onto.
Should I just take off the cover of the speedo and attempt to put the
needle low?
Thanx guys
