XJ Lovers,
I have 2 problems. The 1st 1 I’ve been working on. The 2nd 1 occurred while
test driving a fix to the 1st.
- Still working on steering. I’ve rebuilt the power steering pump, replaced
the ps hoses and rack with known good ones. Found that the universal joint
from the steering column was lose and causing binding so I tighten it and I
inflated the tires to the proper presser. All of this has made a difference,
but it still seems as though I don’t have complete power steering yet. The
manual said the steering column may be binding. Can I lubricate this somehow? - I thought my fuel pump gave out on a drive so I replaced it with a spare I
had. It ran fine for a while but now some times it’s hard to start and when I
do get it started it stalls when you put a load on it. Then it takes a couple
of tries to get it started again. Then if your going down the road and give
it some gas it bogs down like it’s not getting gas. Could it be the fuel
regulator?
Thanks for your help.
