[xj] swapping AFM's

my car is an 84 and I have an 86 parts car…is anything to
be gained from swapping to the 86 AFM

Also can you think of anything else I might get better
performance from changing?–

1984 to 1986/87 MY XJ6 cars have very few changes. The battery and
O2 sensors come to mind but almost all other parts will
interchange. Most engine management components are all compatable.
I think the AFMs are the same part numbers. (you can look at the
units for numbers)

Pretty sure AFM’s on Federal Cars are all the same. Try to find the
newest one possbile - with the least amount of wear on the carbon
traces.

You’ll have to have a CO sniffer to set it (idle mixtue) up
properly - with your particular engine /ECU combo.–

Only if the parts considered are in different state of repair, Chris -
the 84/86 parts themselves are performance identical…
