I think the easiest way to sum it up is as follows:

Do-it-yourself garage mechanic = Craftsman

Professional Mechanic = Snap-on

I have a full set Craftsman and am very satisfied with them. During my high
school days, I worked part-time at a repair shop and had the privilege of
using snap-ons. They are certainly superior but probably not necessary

Trust me…although I have a few Craftsman tools for emergency, the
difference between them and Snap-On is night and day.

Craftsman tools will not take the repeated daily abuse that they have to
withstand by someone who uses them everyday.

Snap-On’s pricing has a nasty habit of making you hemorrhage profusely
around the wallet though…
