Fellow listers, yesterday when I first started my 86 XJ12 the trip computer
displayed U28:8 for about 3 seconds prior
to displaying the time. My query is , is this just some digital display
hicup as power is first applied , or some coded warning ???, and if so
where can i find out what the various codes mean .
The car is runnning well , with no apparent problems.

Dene,
No, there are no diagnostic trouble codes that I am aware of. Old fashioned
glitch, I guess. I’m pretty sure I’ve read where unplugging/plugging back in
solves some of these gremlins. Was about to do that on mine a couple days
ago until I realized I had an owner induced fuse malady.
