Data, data, I can’t make bricks without
straw (or something similar said by
Sherlock Holmes).
Robert Egerton and I have been exchanging
notes regarding sending unit readings
at various temperatures – I because of
concern that the gauge reads high, Bob
because his reads low.
This may be a way to translate your
gauge reading into centigrade scale.
Before going further, I would like to
collect more data.
Would you please check the reading from
spade to sensor body (with single wire
disconnected) with your V12 at
operating temperature? Using the ohm
scale on my digital multi-meter and
crude experimental apparatus, I obtained
the following reading of which I am
fairly confident.

My XJ12 with 88C thermostats
appeared to be running at
about 94C and I know of at
least one other that is
similar. If anyone is
willing to attempt replication,
I would be happy to describe
the equipment and methodology
used. Please reply directly.
Thank you.
