[xj] Was there a XJ6 Series One Tool-kit?

I’ve seen some of the older Jaguar saloons come with very detailed
and elaborate tool-kits and was just wondering if anyone could tell
me if the Series One XJ6’s came with any tool-kit (other than a
jack set), or if it was an option at purchase?

Thank you—

Tim: (Is that your name?)

Unfortunately, the tool kit for the S-1 XJ6 is nothing like some of the
earlier saloons.

If you have access to Nigel Thorley’s “Original XJ” it has a photos of a
tool roll for the S-1 XJ containing three or four spanners, pliers, screw
driver, what looks like a double end socket tube and a spare key. The roll
appears to be make of the same vinyl used for the jack bag. My car didn’t
have it.

Lou

In reply to a message from Lou Danzico sent Sun 5 Sep 2004:

Thank you for the reply and information. The owner’s manual only
refers to some things being supplied, but it was very vague. I
will have to locate a copy of the book ‘Original XJ’ for a photo
reference.

Best regards,
