[xj] Wheel rim

List:

Does anyone know if there’s another wheel rim that will fit the XJ6? I want
to take the chrome wheels off my parts car and replace them with something
less valuable to keep the car movable.

Lou

Lou, I’ve read many times the Chevrolet wheel has the same bolt
pattern, but there is some lite machining necessary to the large
center hole, as one setup is lug nut centered and the other is 'hub
centered. Or something like that. I’m sure someone will jump in
with the complete story. If this is on a parts car and just pushing
it around the driveway or up and down the street maybe just some
old steel chevy wheels that may or may not need a bit of grinding
to the hub hole. Hey, I LOVE those chrome Jaguar wheels!–

Lou when I cannibalized a donated S3 for our wires a few years ago, I just
went to a wheel surplus place and got some steel disc wheels that were listed
as fitting Jags – $20 ea.–

Lou-As Gary said,Chevy 5 bolt rims will fit the Jag.You will have
to grind out or enlarge the center hole. You can do it yourself or
have a machine shop do it nicely. My parts car has Chevy wheels on
it and the PO used a hand grinder on them-not pretty but its a
parts car. Also the offset will be different but as long as the
tires are close to stock size,it should not be a problem. You also
probably won’t find anything to cover the grease cap unless you use
a wheelcover. If not,ask Alex and he can suggest a color to paint
the grease cap.
