[xj] Wiper arm questions

  1. which one is on the left side? - one has a bend near the
    end
  2. the rubber part between the shaft and arm- where to get new
    ones?
  3. What blades fit the arms well? - I have a set on there that
    fall off very easy.

Charles:

Can’t help with 2 or 3, but, in reference to 1 - I believe
that ‘‘officially’’ the bent arm goes on the blade that is
near the outer edge of the windscreen when parked.
Personally, I think it looks much better if the bent arm is
used on the blade that is near the centre of the windscreen
and adjusted to make the blade lie flat on the rubber seal
when parked and the straight arm used on the other blade
and adjusted to be as close to the corner of the screen as
possible without the top and bottom of the blade going over
onto the chrome trim of the windscreen. Your choice of
course, but, I don’t like the look of the blade sticking up
in the centre of the front glass.–

The angled (bent) arm is the one closest to the driver (that is, which lies
close to the centre of the screen); the outer arm is straight. The arm is
bent precisely so that the blade lies flat against the bottom of the screen.
