If you are fairly confident that the injectors are clogged or
simply not operating at proper levels and if you don’t need to use
the vehicle for a couple of weeks, you can remove the injectors and
send them here:
http://www.theinjectorperfector.net/services.htm

They will rehab your injectors and return them for very modest
charge.–

Richard,

Two simple test to run …

  1. Disconnect the electrical connector from the affected cylinder fuel injectors (#1, #6) and use a digital multi-meter (analog meter is okay for this job as well) to check continuity of the injector coil. Just take the reading across the two terminals. Can’t remember the exact value for the coil resistance (other Members will), but I believe it relatively low. If these readings are consistent with the other injector coils, then you do not have a defective coil(s).

  2. Use a simple “noid” light designed for Bosch multi-point fuel injection system and connect it the the harness side of the injector coils. If the coils are getting a signal to “fire”, then the noid light will illuminate (flash) as you attempt to start the vehicle. These handy little diagnostic tools are very inexpensive and found at most parts suppliers.

If you have proper coil continuity and proper injector signal, then you very well may have a problem with the injector itself. But before you purchase any new or used injectors, perform these tests.

Richard,

If you do not want to try and re-invent the wheel with your diagnostic

process you can simply swap one injector to another position with a known
“proper operating” one and restart engine. If miss moves to the new
cylinder and the old cylinder begins firing then your injector is bad. A
quick remedy for the injector if it is varnish stuck from fermented fuel is
to submerge the injector in pure acetone from your hardware store. The
acetone should be above 60 deg F. for best results. This will dissolve the
varnish in a hurry. Flush the acetone through the injector several times
and retry on the engine.
In the event you find a bad injector (rather rare) a breaker yard would
be the best source of an economical replacement. The “parts parts” thread
on this list carries many sources of used spare parts. Acetone is very
flammable so be careful. Also takes the fat from your skin so wear gloves
if you are real sensitive.
Good Luck,
Best Regards

And to think, I have just been using this to remove nail polish. I think I
need to go take an acetone bath, I have a few spots of cellulite I would
like to get rid of  sure beats sit ups
