[xj40] 3.2 replaced by 3.6?

Hi all,

my cousin’s '93 3.2 litre has a dead engine. Can I simply
replace that longblock with a 3.6 (which I still happen to
have sitting in a corner) and swap the the rest over? The
car is running on LPG, so CO levels etc are controlled by
the LPG computer, not the engine’s ECU.
Apart from the buget issue the 3.6 is sooo much quicker than
the 3.2.
Rather urgent, so swift replies appreciated:)

thanks,–

Hey guys,

Surely I’m not the first thinking of this?
As an alternative: is a 3.2 engine with the oil filler in
the cam cover a straight swap for the one with the red oil cap?–

The cam cover will fit but there are extra screws to improve the
sealing on the later engines, a quick inspection would be needed,
these alterations were brought in late 94 to improve engine crank
case vent system and reduce the mayo in the filler tube that can
occur.–
