Well as topic, does anyone have the pin-out on the connector on the
transmission, 4L80E -95.
I’m about to install a after market controller and of course the
connector is not a GM standard…

Hi Tobmag,
Knowing the model year of the Jag will speed up the research…

Not sure why you posted to the XJ40 list as opposed to XJ-S or V12

Tobmag,
Glad you found the diagram online. I was willing to look it
up for you but since I have several XJ40 electrical manuals
I didn’t want to have to look through all of them to find
your 4L80E-95 connector pin-out. I didn’t recognize -95 as
the model year and couldn’t have guessed that your car is a
12-cylinder from your post.
We’re here to help one another, but in this case, better
your hour spent on this than mine. ;^)–

Well I think I did put the year in? -95
I thought the 4L80E was only behind the V12?
I did find the wiring diagram anyway after spending an hour on
google…

hello Jag fellows, though it is an old post but I’m still not able to find any information about the Jaguar V12 6.0L transmission pinout.
1993 - 1996 4L80E transmission.
Eehherr… you may have to map this out for us. What I can tell you it that it is a millspec type connector probably made by Deutch, and also used on ZF transmissions (the series) in europe - on Jag, BMW, and Rolls/Bently transmissions.
Various service parts providers have these numbers for the harness in their parts list/guide:
34446J
35D-103J
34985J
Typically the connector is marked something like: “6 91 cdg bsa 56 14-9 sn 16 f 01” with “bsa 56 14-9 sn 16 f 01” being the consistant part for 4L80e’s. For ZFs there are some other varients. You’ll find similar references to similar numbers on BMW forums about their ZF trans connectors.
The other side uses a Raychem protective sleve marked: 202w203 on the rubber body
Basically you may be left with looking at the wire connectors on the inside / wire color, and testing for continuity to the pins to figure out the pinout. I’m sure there’s a PDF of that connector somewhere along with it’s pattern (probalby a 14 pin unit), but I can’t find it.
Paul thank you for the information.
I searched Deutch connectors and it seems this 12 pin not in their standard catalog.
I am not able to find anywhere the pinout and where the numbering starts on this male connector.
Another problem is where to find the female connector that’s on the car side. It seems no body is selling them new.
regarding the TCM I will be trying to implement a Speeduino based controller.
The whole idea is to install a 6.0 V12 with its 4L60E transmission in a S2 XJC V12. But now this connector is being a serious problem.
You know, IDK about the actual transmission pass-through casting area, but you might just be able to swap the internal harness for a typical GM one (if the hole is the same), then the connector is no problem ---- not as cool, but no problem.
here are pictures of the original female connector and the transmission side pins. it looks to me that this is a 14 pin connector with 2 pins being blanked.
