[xj40] Announcing 50th Anniversary XK-E Convention: XKExperience

Dear Fellow Jag Lover Listers:

The VIRGINIA JAGUAR CLUB would like to make you aware of a
very significant event happening on ‘‘This Side of the Pond’’
honoring the 50th Anniversary of the iconic E-Type.

The ‘‘XKExperience’’ will be held March 25-27 in Richmond, VA,
and is planned to be the largest gathering of E-Types in the
USA. It is being held in conjunction with the 2011 Jaguar
Clubs of North America annual meeting in Richmond, Virginia.

XKExperience main attractions include an all E-Type car show
on Sunday March 27, with popular vote awards presented by
Norman Dewis. Mr. Dewis, legendary Jaguar test driver, will
also speak at the JCNA dinner Saturday night, and sign
copies of his book and pose for pictures. This is a once in
a lifetime opportunity to see, show, and experience the
pinnacle of E-Types and meet other XKE enthusiasts. E-Type
only seminars by national experts will also be presented.

No track events. This is designed to be an historical
convention, meet and greet, parts/auction/vendors available
and chance to see and meet Norman Dewis, THE Jaguar Cars
test driver of the original development E Cars!

There will be a popular vote show by class and category
(i.e. this is NOT a JCNA sanctioned Concours)

We will also be offering, in conjunction with the Central
Virginia British Car Club a beautiful drive across the
Virginia Countryside to the New Kent Winery for wine
tasting/food (drive is free for registered XKExperience
participants, food/wine extra) The CVBCC web site is

PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD TO YOUR JAGUAR CLUBS AND E-TYPE
OWNERS IN THE USA AND ROTW. Thanks!–

The E-Type is a high performance sports car with a racing
heritage. You should be celebrating it by using the car as
intended. Not just with some boring car show.–
