[xj40] Boing or clunk in front suspension

When you find it, be sure to post it because I have the same problem
and can find NOTHING loose. Mine is a bit more of a clunk, but it
happens at the same time. We have 5 speed bumps leading away from the
house and on 0 to 5 of them, it seems to varry, there is a clunk.–

Check out your front passenger side upper shock bushing. May
be deteriorating?

Good luck!–

In my case it turned out to be a bad sway bar link on the
right front: CAC9827

It gave a loud ‘‘boing’’ noise when the car went over a stiff
bump or leaned to the right during a hard left turn. Shop
charged me US$83 for the part plus $35 to install it.–
