[xj40] Circuit 1 Failure on 89 XJ40

In my dash board there is a there is a warning displayed. It’s a
lightning bolt with the words Circuit 1 Failure. I checked my
Haynes manual it doesn’t give me any information on this. When I
check the VCM on the the car it says the Same thing Circuit 1
Failure.

Do any of you know what this is referencing?–

Reginald,
Circuit 1 is the fuse box on the right side of the car. On US, just next to
the passengers feet, door side. Pull out the fuses one by one and inspect
them. You will most likely find one blown. BTW, is there something on your
car that suddenly isn’t working? It is most likely that fuse. On my 88,
the fuse box cover has a fuse “map” labeling what goes to what. Replace the
blown fuse with a like amp and see if your VCM warning goes away.

Let us know what you find.

Good Luck,
Jenni

Reginald,

Your car has a blown fuse in the right side fuse box at the base of
the ‘A’ pillar.–
