[xj40] Connolly or Leatherique?

In reply to a message from Win sent Fri 28 Oct 2011:

Hi Win

Both are good products, as they both use animal fat replacement as
their basis. Fat liquoring is also done during the tanning process.

One thing to note is that Hide Food uses white spirits (paint
thinner) as the cleaner ingredient, it says so on the lable. If
allowed to stay on the leather for an extended period, this can
dissolve the dye. If used as directed, it’s great.

I mention this because I had a sad case last summer where a fellow
with a RR Shadow came for advise about his interior. The colour
could be rubbed off with a towel, and was gooey. After discussion
it came to light that he was applying HIde Food but not buffing it
off as directed. The white spirits had dissolved the dye. A full re-
dye was called for in this unfortunate case.

Good luck,

Rob–

Does anyone have hands on, or preferences between Connolly’s
Hide Care (once called Hide Food) and Leatherique’s Rejuvinator?
