[xj40] Coolant level sensor, the "right" one doesn't fit

Ordered a DBC5578 that according to a few on line sources is
supposed to fit our 91. It does’t. The plug-in fitting is
giant compared to the little plug on the existing one. The
existing one has a small triangular plug with three holes
and two wires, one black and one orange which matched the
wires in the car. The new plug has big round fitting with
black and purple wires.

DBC5546 looks like the right fittings but has purple and
black wires and I cannot find a picture of DBC2111 to make a
guess on it fitting. Any bright ideas or has someone else
had this problem? The actual sensors appear the same. Just
broke an ear off the old one, not sure it will hold the
pressure with only one ear engaging the lock in the coolant
tank.–
