[xj40] distributor cap/rotor

I plan to replace the distributor cap and rotor on a 1991
Sovereign - 102,xxx miles. What is the preferred method of
removing the rotor from the shaft of the distributor? Is there a
type/brand of spark plug and ignition wires that are preferred?–

It should just pull off but may be corroded on and need gentle tapping -
make sure you clean off any corrosion from the shaft and and use some
dielectric grease on the new rotor.
