Does anyone have a good source (USA, not Jag ) for the foam rubber
door seals?
Has anyone replaced only the bottom section, seem like that is the
only section that falls apart.–

There is a wholesale outlet www.trimlok.com that sells spools of
weather stripping. But you may find what you’re looking for at www.jcwhitney.com Search for ‘weather strip’, not ‘Jaguar’.–

Denny…
Excellent question, I was just thinking the same thing. Two of my
door seals are torn at the bottom kick plate but otherwise are in
great condition.
I’d love to do a quick and dirty and replace just the bottom
portion without going through all the headache of a complete seal
installation. It certainly doesn’t look like it would be very
difficult. I was toying with the idea of buying just one seal
and making several bottom pieces out of it.
If you hear of anyone making a repair piece please post it.

It looks like our minds are on the same track. I was also thinking
about to replace only the bottom section of the seal. But instead
of buying a new seal you could go to a junkyard and pull one off
from a wrecked car. Cheaper than buying a new one and it still has
perfect sections maybe on the top or rear side that you can cut and
superglue it to the original.–

‘‘GREAT MINDS THINK ALIKE’’
I’m off to the junk yard to find a door seal that is in good shape
on the sides and top. I’m going to try to replace only the section
under the kick plate, a half inch or so inside the ends of the
plate. That way the kick plate will secure where I splice it.–

Denny,
that’s kewl!
I forgot to mention that try to get a passenger side door seal,
those are usually in better shape even on the bottom.
There’s a wrecked VDP not too far from here, I might go to that
yard and get some seals.
Let us know how the replacement went.–
