[xj40] glovebox knob turns but no longer works

i wanted to unlock the trunk lid - reached over and turned the knob
on the glove box - no ‘click’. huh! and it seemed it turned farther
than it used to. again - nothing. tried locking it with the key -
turning it (very short distance) - nothing…then tried un-locking
it - extended turn but still nothing.
anybody have any ideas as how to get the door open so I can get to
that bloody nut that has got to have worked loose?
if it’s really a ‘nosebleed’ and you live in the philadelphia, pa
area, i’ll bring it to you!

If you remove the knee pad/guard, you should be able to get
to the 2 torx bolts that hold the glove box door in place.
Just remove those 2 bolts & slip the door down and off.–

the door to slide down,and cant move up either, and cant
find any bolts or screws to
to remove the part!
what next?–
