[xj40] New Carpets?

I have checked out the usual places like ‘‘British
northeast’’, ‘‘Motorcars’’ etc looking for new carpets on line and all
I found were mats. I want to recarpet the whole car as a Winter
project. Any advice on U.S. online sources or thoughts form someone
who has done this recentally welcomed. I am going to P.A.for
Christmas and would have them delivered there.Thank You all and I
wish you a happy Christmas and good motoring. John.–

Go to www.worlduph.com. They have what you want. Also, if you send
them your old front mats with the Jaguar rubber insert, they will
stich them into your new mats.–

If you’re wanting carpeting made out of the factory original
material, you may be out of luck … IIRC, the Wilton wool co. went
out of biz some time ago (the same for the Connelley - sp.? -
leather co.) … &:-(…–

Paul,

No, they are still around;-

… but whether they still do carpetting for cars, I don’t
know. Perhaps I’ll give them a call later.–

I’d like to see that. I once thought that the back seats of my 1992
XJ40 (in biscuit leather) would make a nice couch for my den. Could
be especially good sitting on to play Gran Turismo on the
playstation.

It could look rubbish though unless done properly, and would leave
an weird gap in the back of the car.–
