[xj40] Oil pressure sensor problem

This has to be a very common problem with these XJ6 Jags.
I purchased the replacement sensor, however, I am having the
worst time getting the old one out.

Is there someone out there that has done this successfully?
I’m cut-up, banged-up, dirty, and in need of some guidance.

I’ve removed the oil filter, but there is no room to get to
the sensor.

thanks in advance, you’re a great group of guys!–

I assume you are trying to remove the original style (the big one).
The best way I found was using a crowfoot wrench and coming in from the top. However my Canadian car has no air pump and others tell me that it gets in the way from the top.

If you want to see what I mean by a crowfoot wrench here is a picture.
