[xj40] Purchase Opportunity

Hello group and greetings from New Orleans! I have an opportunity
to purchase a real Jaguar gem. She’s a mint 1993 XJ6 with 34000
documented miles. Not a scratch. A real ‘‘little old lady’’ car.
Being sold by the Jag mechanic who has maintained the car. I’m a
Volvo/Lexus guy myself who is searching for a cool daily driver.
(Just relegated my 1970 Volvo P1800 to weekend driver status). Any
advice on the USD value of this beauty would be sincerely

Realistic value on that vehicle is subjective but in my neck of the woods,
which is the expensive part of the country ( LA) I would pay around $9,000
for a mint condition, well maintained XJ40 with such low mileage. Any more
would be overpriced. One of the members of my club has been asking $14,000
for a 93 with double that mileage and its been for sale for 6 months, theyve
come down to $10,999 now but itll have to reach $8,000 for it to sell.

Greetings from down the road lewbob. I’ve seen some around the
Lafayette area for '88-'94 XJ’s ranging between 3 to 6,000 but
mostly just on the lot and the sales guy has no idea where it’s
been and what it’s capable of. From a mechanic who knows the car
I’d say it’d be in the range of $7 to $8000. Always pays to do
homework and ask questions.
