[xj40] Update on Smokey Valve stem oil seals

Hi all, a while back I was asking about replacing valve stem oil
seals without taking the head off. I decided to try one of the oil
additives designed to improve the way the seals work. I used Wynnes
engine stop leak as this was the only one I could find. First
application improved things significantly, it went from a massive
cloud on start up to a small puff. The tin I bought was only
suitable for up to 6 litres of oil so I put another one in last
week and have not seen a sign of blue smoke on start up since. I
would stress that my car had been left idle for months before I got
it so the seals had dried out a bit, results for worn out seals may
be different.
If you have leaky seals I would give this or a similar preperation
a go first. I have no affiliation with any company - usual
disclaimer. It worked for me and I am very happy with the results,
I just hope it’s not a problem that comes back in 2 weeks :-)–
