[xj40] What makes the Executive XJ6 Different than standard XJ6

Just curious if the chassis is longer or different on the Executive
XJ6 than a stardard or Van Den PLas. Someone thought that there is
no sunroof on an Executive Chassis. Years between '88 and '89
specifically…how long did they make this style?

Appreciate comments.–

My 1990 is an Executive. It is the base model, with no sunroof, no
fog lights, minimum leather, no picnic tables, and quad headlights.

I suspect that it was aimed at companies to use as company cars
for ‘‘executives’’, but not spoiling them too much with a Sovereign
or Vanden Plas because, after all, they are not the CEO.

Thanks for the clarification. That makes sense! So the sunroof
and other items are ‘‘options’’ at the plant. I have a basic '89
but with sunroof, remote locks, alarm, top leather, but not the
trim and picnic tables found on the Vanden Plas.

It shows a little class to have ‘‘Executive’’ as the name for the
basic model.

Thanks Andrew!–
