[xj40] XJ40 rear end type?

XJ40

I was wondering what kind of rear end the XJ40’s have? Is it the
same Dana 44 setup as the XJ6’s had up to 1987?

Any other info?

I am looking for a locking 3.07 or 3.31 ratio for my project XJ6.

My parts catalog indicates the following ratios: 2.88:1, 3.54:1,
3.58:1, 3.77:1, and 4.09:1. All the ratios came in either ‘‘normal’’
or ‘‘powr lok’’
Not every market got all of the ratios. USA, for instance got
mostly 2.88s and 3.54s.–
