I have used a Yakima ski/bike rack with the
cross-members designed for cars, (like an XJ40) with
rain channels along the roofline. It works very
well,
although you will get a LOT of wind noise that
silent
jags usually never produce. Also, not many XJ40’s
are driving around with roof racks, so you’re liable
to> get a double-take or two from other motorists
