[xj40] XJ40s In the Movies and on T.V

A fwe years ago, JLers had a special board on which members could
post mention of any Jags that were featured in a movie or T.V. show
or series (or even music videos!). It was very entertaining and
interesting to see how many cats in fact have been in the spotlight
over the years.

I tried to find the board a little while ago, and couldn’t, so I
don’t know if it is even still around. Maybe it was taken down in
the recent website restructuring …

I just wanted to share a spotting of a '89 XJ40 that was used in
the movie ‘‘Somthing About Mary’’. It is a tan-colored cat (not sure
if paint is factory or custom) used in many scenes in the movie.
It has some after-market wheels on it that, IMHO, ‘‘over-dresses’’ it
a bit. I did some checking around, and that cat supposedly belonged
to and was the personal driver of the owner of a Jag dealership in
R.I. for many years, before he passed. After his death, it was
supposedly used for promotional use, including in that film.

Check the movie out sometime!–

Cadillac man, a fat guy test drives a black '89? XJ40 and then he
says, ‘‘I don’t know’’
Home Alone 1 when the boy is suspected that he stole something in a
store and he starts to run. He runs behind an XJ40 that was pulled
over by a police officer.

Sean of The Dead has a sweet green Jag in it.

‘‘You didn’t tell me Philip had a Jag…’’

‘‘Why don’t I wait here while you go in and get them…’’

‘‘But you were parked!’’
‘‘I guess we’ll have to take the Jag then’’–

If you noticed, the XJ40 on CSI, once wrecked it was an X300.

On the final season of The Equalizer in the late 80s, They
switched from a Series III to an XJ40.–
