What would be a good OBD tool to diagnose “Check engine” light in dashboard?

Rhanks!

An OBD II scanner might work.
Don’t you have a dash display?
No matter which you use none will give you a fix for all codes.

You can bum one for free at AutoZone and other auto parts chains.

I use a cheapie u480 OBD2 reader. They all seem to work for all standard “p” codes.

You will need something more specialized to pull transmission and abs codes. The check engine light does not fall in either of those two other categories, so you are ok.

You can also get a wireless ELM27 dongle and download an app on your phone. If you have an iPhone, you must make sure you get a WiFi ELM27 dongle. If you have an android, either should work, but I would recommend a Bluetooth dongle.

Thanks a lot! I’ll try it.
