XJS V-12 Oil Pressure

Hi. I just looked at an 88 XJS The oil light is on. Is it likely to be the pressure sender, pump or something else. How difficult is it to replace the pump and are they available?

Internal engine components on the v12 are generally robust.
Failure in the electrical parts is far more likely, IMHO.
The idiot light is ON, but does the pressure indicator show any reading?

But, to answer your question – the pump is expensive, and any work on the v12 engine is difficult by default (most due to the tightly packed engine bay)

If it’s running and you’re not hearing a lot of clackety-clack noises from the
engine, it’s not a real oil issue. Oil isn’t a common problem on the Jaguar
V12, it’s very likely to be a sender problem.
