[xk] 120 DHC part you don't often see

There’s a 120 DHC project car on Ebay ( 4562030339 ) that still has
the correct rear window with it. It’s shape is different from the
OTS cars. I wonder if the ‘‘restored’’ 4561483325 has it on the top?

PhilW;
The DHC rear window is also a tad wider and not as “high” as an OTS
rear window… I wonder why the same window wasn’t used on both cars?

Harry P;
I’ve always understood the 120 DHC rear window was Perspex, not a
piece of Triplex laminated glass… Am I wrong??
Yes, the DHC uses an entirely different Hood Assembly than does the
OTS (the DHC’s is better ;-} as it’s “trimmed-out” much like the FHC’s hood
interior- the perfect “compromise” between an OTS and a “tin-top” FHC) but
I understood the rear windows to be the same “style/shape” with only
dimensional differences… Again, Please correct me if this is incorrect…

Charles and listers

As a former owner of a 1954 OTS, I believe that the OTS hood (top) was an
expedient when the alloy OTS was rushed into production. The OTS continued
on into 1954 with side curtains and a different hood(top) than the DHC. My
original 1954 OTS had a plexi rear window that folded down into the hood
well, not a Triplex glass window.

I think the explanation is simple, the OTS continued in production without
change and the DHC was a new product with a different hood (top),window
and
frame.

Just my opinion.
