XK/D/C/SS Listers, Here are some photos of a C-type I ran into the
other day. This C-type reportedly has extensive racing history and
is apparently unrestored. I just had to take photos and share
them. Enjoy… Bill

Thanks for the pictures Bill.
It’s always a pleasure to see these cars.
I hope to get some good pictures on Tuesday.
Cheers
Ken–

For some reason I missed the original post. Let’s blame the computer cos I
never make mistakes. (That’s got my dose of BS out of the way for today).
Thanks Bill, great shots. Did XKCs come with Webers? Or is that a “hot up”
feature that’s been added?

The late ones did.
The earlier ones had SUs.
I would have though that XKC030 was originally fitted with a
pair of SU carbs, but I’m sure a lot would have been
upgraded. Particularly as the 1953 works cars had them.
XKC046 had a very strange arrangement with 3 ‘‘Sandcast’’ SUs
mounted in a reverse arrangement, where they draw air from
near the engine and then have manifolds that turn the gases
around and bring it back to the head.
XKC030 has an enormous racing history, looking like it raced
pretty constantly till 1968, when it then took a 20 year
holiday before coming out to play again in 1988. I think it
has the longest entry in the C Type registry.
