[xk] Colorado (no Jag)

Fire here near Denver has blown up again over the last several days. Fire
may cross over the Front Range into the plains north of the Air Force
Academy by tomorrow if nothing slows it down. Getting ugly here! Car is
packed but the fire is moving north of here by about 10 miles. Burn area
broke 150 sq. miles (about 40,000 Hectares for those metric folks out there)

Good luck Tom.

I am very sorry to learn of all the bad news of your state, even more
so after all the contact we had off line a couple of weeks ago.
It was a great horror to see the news this evening with the “Smoke
Jumpers” plane crash like that and now the planes are grounded to make
matters worse. Our prayers are with you you God Bless. Keep us all up to
date. It seems hopless to to think of rain with the drought you have there
but there is always hope.

Tom;
Although I see the news reports of the fire in your area, it is
hard to imagine a burned area that large…
As another Lister noted, the horrific plane crash and subsequent
grounding of the planes is not adding to an already uncomfortable feeling,
I’m sure…
I probably don’t have to remind you not to wait too long before
heading out, if it comes to that… and I hope it doesn’t…
I think I can truthfully say for all of us on this list, we are very
concerned about your situation and you & your family are in our thoughts…

Tom,
As an engineer I had to check on that. 150 miles = 38849.82 hectares.
As a young child I watched a house burn to the ground after a lightning strike. I had
once been to a Christmas party at that house, and house fires always give me the
creeps!
Best of luck!
My thoughts are with you!
