[xk] Correct finishes for July 1958 XK 150S Air Filter Box, Shroud

Friends,

What are the correct finishes for the air filter assembly
box (rectangular box with trumpets) for a July 1958 XK 150S
as well as the aluminum shroud that attaches under the
radiator?

I believe the box was cadmium in color, but don’t know if it
should be painted or plated. The shroud, I believe, should
either be left in its natural aluminum finish (good looking)
or painted black.

Will be posting pictures this weekend of body on chassis.
Also, have found what appears to be a really good plating
shop here in Western Massachusetts for cad items. Picking
up Cheney clamps and other parts today and will provide
further info if the works is what I expect it will be.

Thanks, once again, for all the ongoing help. Hope to get
the car to Bill Bassett for trimming out in August. Have a
great weekend, Jim from Amherst–
